My Approach
As a Pastoral Counselor and Christian, I approach counseling from an integrative spiritual perspective. Counseling begins with the establishment of a therapeutic alliance, regardless of the therapeutic approach. This integrative approach of therapeutic models includes Adlerian, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Structural Therapy, and Narrative Therapy integrated with Spirituality. This approach allows me to enter a relationship with my clients from a perspective of trust (nonjudgmental), empathetic understanding, and unconditional positive regard to help ensure the client’s self-concept becomes more positive and realistic. My primary focus is to engage in an interactive approach that starts with Listening Ears, Listening Hearts, and Listening Eyes from both a vertical and horizontal angle to help individuals open up and become effective and active agents in their search for meaning and well-being to work through unprocessed hurt and pain successfully.
